I got out to a new park today. Fired up the dfx and instantly started getting quarter signals one after another. I knew I was at a site that has never been hunted! Nickel, quarter, dime, quarter, pendant, quarter, ... I was only out for 15 minutes when I got the first ring. Steel with a gigantic fake diamond. Pretty cool. Another pendant. At least 15 more quarters. First pulltab 30 minutes in. Right next to that hole, another pulltab sound. 27 vdi and SOLID. Too loud. Like a pulltab on steroids. Thought for sure pulltab. Almost didn't dig, but I did. When it came out I only saw one little side of it in the clump, thought it was one of those old style pulltabs. Then I saw the yellow. Time slowed down for a minute as I knocked the dirt off one of the best rings of my life. 16 diamonds and a gigantic sapphire, in 14k. I threw off my headphones and did two somersaults. Seriously. Made my whole week.

Just amazing!! What kind of area was it and how deep? I hate it when rings show up as pull tabs. After you dig your 30th for the day its like ... nope not diggin it! lol
I wonder how many rings we have all passed up. May the thing is to not dig the first 30 pull tabs hits then start diggin...lol

Thanks for all the cool comments. I really appreciate it.
It was weird, it gave a noise and pinpointed like it was right below the surface 1" or something. But it was closer to 5" when I dug it. It was in fairly damp soil in the goalie box of a local soccer field. It is big and heavy and the picture really does it no justice. I mean, I'm not exaggerating, it sparkles in the dark!
THanks again for all the positive comments. Keeps me motivated. Merry Christmas everybody. Dan

What a find, that made your day for sure.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the future.
Hey, I have a question for you guys that work parks and schools and ball fields. How do you keep from destroying the grass, even being very carefull I always feel like I am damaging the turf. There is a tot-lot and a park just steps from one of the beaches that I work, I made a few runs through the other day my GT just to see what kind of targets were there, it's loaded, I don't think it has been worked at all.

Det vi vet er så uendelig lite mot det som har hendt. Arkeologen er som den som går langs en strand og finner småtterier, skyllet i land fra et forsvunnet skib. Men selve skibet som gikk i dypet med menneskene får han aldri se.

I'm trying to envision the somersault. If you are an old guy that would have been hillarious to see... Kinda like that guy on tv that is trying to sell you the back remedy machine he invented where he turns upside down and spins all around.
Nevertheless, Myself being a young and athletically fit I'm sure someone has taped me doing strange jigs in open farming fields before.
Nice find
