I guess I am a greedy old lady but I keep wanting to find just one more “good” item before the year ends.  I keep trying and trying but so far it has eluded me.  Not counting the small gold ring I found the other day that I didn’t know was gold until you guys told me!

Anyway, off I went to the beach again this morning.  I figured it was going to be chilly but I was willing to brave it.  At first I just went along the edge of the water hunting just the wet sand.  Ten minutes into my hunt I got a nice beep and thought I had found a dime.  NOPE it was a ring.  GOOD!

Ring1228099251.jpg

I didn’t think much of it at first.  I figured it was a cheapo ring but when I got back to my car and started cleaning it off and looking at it under the loup I could see a 925 stamped on it.  ALRIGHT!  It was silver!  I’ll take it.  That was a nice start to the morning.

I kept walking and about ten minutes more – in between picking up a few coins – I got another nice beep.  I’m still right along the surf line with the water just washing up over my boots.  I figured well this is a dime for sure.  NOPE it was another ring.  A BETTER ONE it looked like.  ALRIGHT!

Ring122809engagementCZ.jpg

This one was an engagement ring with a real nice stone but when I got back to the car and cleaned it off and looked for a stamp there was none and you can see it is not a “good” ring.  OH WELL it is pretty!

I got down about as far as I was willing to go so I decided it was time to turn around and head back for the car but the water was really nice this morning.   It had been washing up over my boots and sometimes up my leg and really wasn’t that cold so I decided that I would head back IN the water.  I got about hip deep in the water and headed back and got a real nice beep beep!  I dug it up and HOLY COW! This one was the best ring I’ve found so far!  It has 31 diamonds and is stamped 750 inside.  It is white & yellow gold!  MY BEST FIND!

I also managed to find a small handful of clad this morning and my first Swiss coin.    A 10 RAPPEN(CENTIMES)  coin from Switzerland.

switzerland_10_rappen_2008.jpg

All in all this was an excellent morning for me and a great end of the new year for me!  I’LL TAKE IT!

3 rings is a good day, but whenever you find a ring try using a spiral pattern out from the find or grid that area very well. Generally items collect together this may help in adding to your ring count...............HH

Hey Mumsi, finding one more good piece before the end of the year is not greed, it's opportunity. Keep looking before someone else gets it.

I say good for you.

Well, Mumszie, looks like you'll be bumped off the banner soon.   It's been a nice long run for you though.   It's great to see people of your caliber and interest in detecting, with your continual positive input on the board actually find something nice enough to qualify for the Banner.

Once again, congratulations.   It couldn't have happened to a more appropriate and worthwhile person.

Be blessed!

When you get past the surgery and the physical therapy and are able to get back out there, don't forget the diamond solitaire in the large platinum setting that I keep mentioning to you.   Just got to put your coil over it!
