unknown type & Size "Jar of Silver Coins"

buried as kids in the '70's
so doubtfull it's deep.

being 2 Kids one may have dug it & Not told the other.
told him to ask his
brother, havn't found out if he did yet.

their father had one of the RED BARRON Bounty Hunters
which was one of the First VLF detectors.
Also possability he dug it. Parents Deceased.
& being the Jar probably stood Upright
and if it had a Tin Lid the Detector in Disc may have Ignored it.

yard also contains alot of Coal Ashes.

being 70's May not have been Silver Either.
could have been Clad.


alot of reasons this would be an Absolute Surprise to find.

BUT You just never know.

The top of the quart jar is buried 6 inches deep. The jar contains silver and copper coins…The cap of the jar may not be there now….I am now doing maps and photo’s on my computer screen so I need some feedback as to if it is working or not…Sure saves money on ink….Art

Yea I Figured That.

If I remember right he said there was no Fence
around the yard back then.
It is Very Possable He buried it in the Neighbors Yard.

or that when the fence was put up
part of their yard ended up on the other side.

I Need spring Too
that area has more Potential then just the Cache.

Behind them is a 19th. Century Church Grove
in the woods. Thousands used to be Brought in by Train
for a Yearly Church Picnic.

2 Miles from my house & I Never walked in it
or Touched it.

  I live and hunt out in the Mohave Desert area. In order to save time, before I hunt I always map dowse. A good % of the time it leads me to productive targets .
  I printed the photo of your site and dowsed the map/photo for location to search . I agree with , aarthrj3811 , on the location indicated by the point of the white arrow.  It is where I would start .  Good luck      Extractor

My dowse has revealed that:
Green circles are copper targets.
Blue circles/rectangle are individual silver coins.
I. Glass jar of silver clad coins.
II. Copper item.

I'm a new map dowser but have had some success. I won't claim to be as experienced as the others who have posted here.

But I figure if your shooting blind, what are a few more areas to check...

These are the two areas that I recieved strong signals at. Pretty close to where I marked, kind of hard to do this way, usually I use bing maps or google and then grab gps coords before I go metal detecting a new researched area.

The area on left should be (if up is North) just SW of the white blip. The area on right is in a straight horizontal line from the blip and slightly North of there.

Hey Monolyth…I think a little different about Map Dowsing…I do not expect us to all to have the same location. That seems to be how it works. Jeff now knows that the treasure is there. He can have the fun of pin pointing it…Art

I believe whatever you were picking up there (arrow) is still not dug.

I took time yesterday to map dowse the one map. Here is what I got. The red arrow is pointing to what seemed to be the best signal...marked by an X inside a circle.

All the plain Xs are good targets, either a single coin or relic. The two Xs boxed around or squared off...they are a couple good targets together, most likely coins.

The X with a question mark (top left) is possibly a non-metal target, most likely paper money.

I had been using a pendulum, but switching to a pair of dowsing rods...they stayed crossed over the area surrounded by pen lines. In that area, pendulum dowsed to mark an arrow pointing to $ sign. Probably is some kind of jewelry. Some clads are scattered around also. The X in a circle above the words "clad coins" is a good target. The X plus circle with a question mark seems to be antique, possibly a bottle.

The three circles close together, I put them there last...didn't take time to find out what they could be...
