ATLANTA., Ga., Dec. 28.--Wilkes County, in this State, is in great excitement over the discovery of a large quantity of Confederate treasure, about which so much has been said and written.

ATHENS, Ga., Nov. 1.--Wilkes County is greatly excited over the discovery of $20,000 in silver coin on the plantation of John Chenault. It revives the story of the Confederate treasure train which was robbed near that place. [ END OF FIRST PARAGRAPH ]
