Estate sale pickin's

I bought these from a gent who has tons of glass.  Only pictures can possibly describe the amount of glass this guy has.  I promise to get pics soon.  Cambridge-Rosepoint-Caprice, Fenton, Heisey, Fostoria, A-Z, soup to nuts.  Not much for bottles. He does have about thirty antique wooden baby cribs stacked up like cordwood in the corner of the basement.  And about twenty old copper tea kettles.  And about twenty cool old "treasure boxes" and on and on.  Anyway, the guy's parents passed on, they were going to open up a shop back in the 80's.  It never happened.  But they did have tons of glass, and the man wants to part with his parents' stupendous collection.  It literally fills the whole house, every room, 3 floors.  Hard to walk around without breaking something.  So, I go over and pick up this stuff, paid $36.00 for all, including some not shown.  I promise to get picks of his plethora of glass, I promise.

Like the Moxie?  He's got a case or so.  Like the Zett's?  He's got a few more.  He also has a 1920's jet-black 12 oz crown, embossed on bottom, I think I'll pick that one up, not see too often.

diggummup, I pick up any that are clean.  I like them, but I don't study them much.  I never pay more than 2 or 3 bucks for these, but I don't know the true values.  I can probably buy the whole lot of Moxies reasonable, including the original printed cardboard 6-pack holders.

You sound like me, if you like it you buy it. I probably have a couple dozen different collections of things started, from postcards to other forms of ephemera to coins and notes to fruit labels to banks to bottles to books to old maps to lighters to swizzle sticks to cookie jars to American art pottery to fishing equipment to rocks and minerals to old Floridiana collectibles and Seminole collectibles, not to mention 4 glass cases and a couple of bookshelves full of the wifes Elvis collection. All in all, too much crap!

I takes a bit of self-control.  I buy almost any old flashlights and battery lanterns I can find.  Just can't resist.
If I see a really old camera, bellows type, I must have it.  For some reason I buy Griswold cast iron stuff.  I've been hitting the acl stuff moderately for about 15 years, I just always liked them.  I've been diggin dumps for 40 years, I started at age 7, at the height of the bottle-dump diggin' craze, late 60's early 70's.  I wish I knew then what I know now.
