What should I ask to look for at my local library if I want to do research to find a site to hunt? help

most libraries have a local history room.   lot's of good info in there.   they might have old maps of your area and will most certainly have old newspapers.  in fact, the libraries by me have old papers scanned online.

Historical maps and arials. Old books containing history of your state can be very helpfull. A lot of books are available on line at google books. Just key in historical (your state or county) and read on.  thumbsup
