Deb (cntrydncr1) will be down in the area this Saturday, March 20th... and just like last time, some of us are getting together to detect & have dinner that evening. All of the info is posted up on her thread, and it's open to whomever would like to meet up with us!
Hope there are others that are able to make it out! Smiley

Here's her thread...

I just saw you post about the Beach at Anna Maria Island.  It has been way to long since I hunted that
beach and hopefully someday soon, my wife and I will be able to get back down to Florida.  I detected the beaches for some 23 years and found some really nice gold rings.

My best memory of that beach is when a fellow and his family were looking for a ladies Rolex watch with a rake and shovel.  I asked them is I could look for it for them.  They said sure and of course in no time at all, I had the watch in my sand scoop.  Boy were they happy, as was I that I could find the watch for them.  They insisted that I take a reward for finding the watch.  Usually I don't take or ask for a reward, but the gentleman stuck a $50 bill in my pocket and told me to take my wife out for dinner.

I love that beach as well as all the beaches on the gulf. Over at St. Pete beach, I would get up really early and hunt the parking meters, lots of battery money there.

Thanks for bringing back so many great memories.  I always liked the pancakes they served at the beach.  Doesn't get any better than that!

I was just back down there hunting AMI with Deb a week and a half ago... she just purchased a house down here, so we'll end up hunting the beaches there more often. But we all had a great time when we got together last time! And yeah, I hunt St Pete Beach from time to time... but I don't have a water detector, so I'm restricted to the dry and wet sand. But I find it fun regardless if I just need to get out and hunt a little. I'd much rather go relic detecting though... that's what I enjoy the most!! Smiley

Heh, heh... I definitely DO owe you a hunt, in a bad way too!! Grin
Well BillofUSA wanted me to schedule a hunt for sometime in the fall... and I fully intended to do so... but then some things just changed in my life recently, so I will have something else that I need to put my time & energy into planning. I'll probably let some of my T-Net family know about it in a few weeks or so. Smiley
