There Are No Sharks Here!

Detector used: Fisher CZ-20, Ace 250, BH 505, MP3 Digital

« on: May 28, 2006, 03:42:24 PM »

Took a trip back to the old Shark Pit today to start the season for me! Hopefully this is the first of  many trips this summer. It was nice to be back out there for a few hours today. The temps were nice & the waves were low. I only found 1 sharks tooth & one sting ray tooth/plate today which is unusual.
But I did find 8 cookie coins, 2 buffalo & 1 1910 V nickle, 1 wheat penny, 3 train tokens, 1 #69 locker key tag, 1 button that says “Hold Strong”, 1 clothes button, 1 brass ring, 2 bullets & 3 shells, top part of a cuff link that has a Dog (a pointer) on it, 1 ladies hat pin with a wish bone & some kind of stone on it and some other misc stuff.. Thanks for looking!
To find out all the details about the Shark pit & to see more finds click here.

I just added some pictures of the dispay case I keep some of my finds from the Shark Pit in! Scroll down to see them!

Good to see you back in action, especially at the shark pit!  I can't help wondering with all the tremendous and interesting finds there, do you have them set up in some kind of display?  If so, I would love to see them as would others on the forum.  Monty

How many years have you been hunting this site, Rob?
This will be my second full year. I did hunt it a few times in 2004 but it was at the end of the season & it got too cold to get out there in the water.

Rob,
That hold strong looks like some sort of button snap thingy.
As always, nice finds!
Yes it does! I think it was like the snap that goes on the waist of your jeans or pants.

Hey rtde3...LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!  Shocked

Hey Monty, Yes I do have some of my better finds from the Shark Pit in a dispay case. The whole thing is items just from there. It was a old curio cabinet that my wife used to have a doll dispaly in. Well, the dolls went on Ebay & I took over the cabinet!  Grin   I will post a picture of it later.

Thanks again guys!

Cool Nice finds good luck this summer, watch out for sharks! I know there mostly nurse sharks if I remember correctly, but there is the occasional bull so I hear.Looking forward to more finds at the shark pit.H.H.

OK Monty here is some pictures of my Shark Pit Disply Case!  Some might not be very clear & remember that there is a mirror on the back side of this cabinet so it might throw you off when you look at some of the pictures.
I will try to fit all the pictures on one or two post. There is six shelves to it. The first is the spoon & porcelain shelf. Next is Rings & other jewelry, tokens, WW1 dog Tag, knifes, seals & other stuff shelf. Then there is the brass items shelf with watch spockets and other brass stuff. Also on this shelf is a bowl of cookie coins & a bowl of nickels. The next shelf has Shark Teeth, other bones, Arrow head & other stuff. The shelf below that one is the Glass chip & parts shelf. Then the bottom shelf has some of what I think are the best of many bottles I have found at the Shark Pit!
