Ok guys here we go again! This Is The Best Of The Shark Pit & Grand Totals Part 3!
It’s gonna be a long thread so if you hate long post fast forward to the 14 pictures or turn back now! This is going to take a few post to get all these pictures to fit. So just keep scrolling down until you get to the last page where I will add everything up & give you the Grand Totals! This thread represents my last 15 trips to The Shark Pit. For those of you who do not know about The Shark Pit, click here to read the story of this place and a list of frequently asked questions.
http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,42179.0.html
For Part One Click here.
http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,18502.0.html
For Part Two Click here. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,21670.msg142911.html#msg142911

Now lets get to the pictures! The first picture shows why this place is called the Shark Pit. It shows over 50 shark & StingRay teeth! The 2nd picture is of some of my favorite finds from my last 15 trips. It shows a police badge (I blanked out the name) from a near by city, a #33 badge pin, a WW1 sweetheart pin that would be worn by the wife or mother of a soldier that was serving in the medical corps, 4 buttons, 6 cufflinks, 2 heart pins, a whistle, a 1913 baseball fan pin, a small shoe, a wishbone hat pin with a stone, 2 key tags, a brass pencil, a cool token from a saloon in Washington D.C., and other Misc. things! The 3rd picture shows all the cookie coins I’ve found. Some of them were part of the contest we had where I used electrolsis on them to see what they were and members would guess. The 4th picture shows all the Nickels & pennies I have found. There is Buffalo’s, V’s and one Jefferson nickels. All the pennies are wheat’s.
Now scroll down for the next set of pictures!

The 6th picture shows 16 tokens, 9 bottle seals, 9 buttons and other misc. stuff. The 7th picture shows what’s left of a pocket watch, a lead hem weight, 1 whole & parts of other napkin folds, a buckle and other misc.stuff. The 8th picture shows the 6 rings I’ve found. I had to glue the one on the end back together after I broke it trying to clean it. It was a cookie ring made of silver. The 9th picture shows 9 spoons. Now scroll down for the next set of pictures!

The 11th picture shows a salt shaker, 3 cane or umbrella handles, a shoe tread & heel plate, 3 light bulb sockets, a marble slab, what’s left of 4 batteries and other stuff. The 12th picture shows rib, inner ear, and other bones, vertabre that just come up in my scoop with my metal targets. They are mostly prehistoric like the sharks teeth Now scroll down for the next set of pictures.

It makes my day every time I see a Shark Pit post.  My mind wanders through the possibilities of how these items ended up in the water.  Items from shipwrecks, tossed overboard from steamships, washed out to sea from the beach...  Each item has a history.  That's why I enjoy this hobby.  Thank you for continuing to feed my need, since I can't find a darned thing when I hunt.

Thanks Penny! All sharks lose Thousands of teeth over their life time. So thousands of teeth for Each shark plus millions of sharks, plus Millions of years = never ending supply of sharks teeth to be found!

Thanks Jack! My mind also wanders how someone lost some of these things I find. Were they swimming when they lost that ring? Did they drop that token & it fell between the boards of the pier? Did they drop that pocket watch in the water while casting a fishing rod? Was that hat pin stuck on a ladies hat that blew off her head & sank, than rotted just to leave the pin for me to find 100 years later? Did some guy lose that door key on the beach when his girlfriend picked up & shook the blanket they were laying on? It never ends & thank God it don't because I love it!
