Okay I'm as new at this as anyone, got a Garreett gtp1350 in the mail. I want to go detecting around the 2-75 loop area no farther than Dayton due to gas prices, I don't know about local laws on city parks, but state parks just want you to get a permit at the office. Anderson park is same way, need a permit. I'm trying to hunt down old amusement parks not located in bad neighborhoods, or previous churches, closed schools or gathering places. I'm going to concentrate on schools and soccer fields and try to stay out of the path of any official looking people. Maybe baseball fields or county parks. I figure the park beaches early in the mornings. I live in Anderson Twp. would like to eventually walk the bike trail, but OHIo dept of parks won't issue a permit because of the high number of private residences the trail transverses.
