OK Boys & Girls it's that time again! Time to have some more fun with the now World Famous "Cookie Coins" that I find at The Shark Pit! Many of you have asked me when we were going to have another contest, so here it is! We had a good contest earlier this year & and a few last year. But let's make this one better with a few more prizes & hopfully more players! All these coins are just a few of the hundreds of cookie coins I found during my 29 trips this year to the Shark Pit. You have 6 cookie coins to guess and the prizes are a new Treasure Net “Metal Detective” Hat from my "Treasure Chest" store & was designed with help from T-net members! And A "Shark Pit Kit"! The kit contains some of the many things I regularly find at The Pit! A Sharks tooth, a StingRay tooth, a cookie coin, a V nickel and a Buffalo nickel all from The Pit! Some of you have seen the Electrolysis experiments that myself, Floater, Conservator & AF1733 have done on these coins in the Cleaning & Preservation section of this site. Well, I will try it once again on these coins & see what happens! Like I've said before, I'm no pro & we may not be able to read all the dates & other marks but we should be able to tell what kind of coin they are & with any luck a date and mint mark! Or, they just might crumble. But what ever happens you all will see the pictures right here! So lets see who can guess what they will turn out to be! Rich in Texas has won the last two contest so lets see if anyone can knock him off his throne!! You can guess what denomination the coin is (like penny, nickel, dime, quarter…) what kind of coin (like Wheat penny, Merc. Dime, Barber Quarter…), date on the coin and the mint mark (or No mint mark). So there are 4 things you can get right. You get one point for everything you get right about each coin. So if the coin turns out to be a 1923d merc. dime. And Joe guesses 1923d merc. dime and Tom just guesses 1923 dime. Than the score would be Joe 4 Tom 2. I noticed the last few times that people would just guess dime or quarter, Or say "No Date". You should always try to guess as much info. as possible. It will not count if we can not read a date on the coin when it's done & you guessed "No Date". The person with the most points wins the Hat & Shark Pit Kit Free including shipping! If there is a tie, we will break it with other coins. The coins are numbered 1 -6 on the pictures. Be sure to put a number with each coin you guess. I will leave this contest open to guesses for a few days. One guess post per person Please. Here are the “before” pictures of all 6 coins. Start guessing NOW! Here’s a Hint: If you read my Story about The Shark Pit, it might be able to help you have a better guess of what denomination of coin they may or may not be, and what years they may or may not be! To see that story & and for Questions about what is The Shark Pit & Cookie Coins, Click here. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,42179.0.htmlTo see the Treasure Net “Metal Detective” Hat click here. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,11765.0.htmlTo see the contest from earlier this year click here. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,38858.0.htmlTo see last years contests click here. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,20405.0.htmlhttp://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,20859.0.htmlLegal stuff below! Nice guesses so far guys!! I noticed some of you are guessing "no date or "dateless" for some coins. You should always guess a date because it won't count if we can't read the date on the coin when it is done & You guessed "No Date". So unless there is a coin that was minted out there with no date, those kind of guesses won't count. The good news is because the contest is still open for guesses, I will let you go back & change those type of guesses as of now. Thanks, Rob
