I hit Logan yesterday and met Mike, Steve and Chris (the beep goes on). Had a good day on buttons with 5 - 2 large eagle, 1 medium eagle, a US 132 disc and an ILL. collar disc. I returned today for a very short look in a different spot and found a large eagle in mint condition! My best by far!

Dang, Tim. That there is a button findin' machine. I have a collar disk just like that one, too. That eagle button sure is purdy... I got skunked out there. I went across the street and dug a bunch o' clad from a ransacked hobo shelter and also a cell phone.....c ya next time!

Nice finds. It is fun to find buttons. My favorite are 2 piece with lots of writing on the back so you can have more fun identifying them.

Wow. Super great find. I can hardly wait till spring to start on my new hobby. I did use my son's metal detector and found this Chuckie Cheeze token dated 2001! I know it is junk but it is my first find! I am sooo bitten by this bug that I can hardly wait till my birthday and start hitting the woods in my area.
Sincerely, Southern_Boy

I collect US militaria WWI - WWII and what you have there are some WWI tunic buttons and some collar devices. One would be Illinois national guard and one most likely a 132 regiment collar disc. Do the discs have a screw nut on the back?

Hey Matt- Yes- The collar discs all have screws but no nut (I guess that's why they got lost!) A quick count of what I have found there in buttons and discs is: Discs: 1-ILL, 4-USNG, 3-US, 2- infantry- (132 and 6 regiment- Company S) Eagle Buttons: 4 large, 6 medium and 8 small Also small shirt buttons that say USA, 9 aluminum dog tags, 2 other IL aluminum ID tags.
