Thought I would never eye ball a find like this before. I was at work a few nights ago and slipped out the back receiving door for a quick smoke. Went back inside and when I opened the door the light from inside the plant casted a noticeable glimmer on the ground. I was a bit in disbelief at first,  but here it is. Belongs to no one here at work, has to be someone that has delivered something at the plant. Hope he returns, we have quite a few regulars that do deliver quite frequently. Gotta find the owner, He's got to be sick. It doesn't look cheap to me either. 14K with three nice looking stones. Thanks for looking, Art...

Finally found the owner of the ring. Talk about a happy person. He is a temporary worker with us. Turns out that he had the ring in some clothes that was carried in through the back door of receiving and fell out of his pants. That was the last night he was on second shift. He didn't realize that it was lost at work, thought it fell out in his car.  About a few weeks later he had overheard that someone found a ring and no one knew who's it was. Since he went to day shift he never went through the back door again, which was where I put the notice about the found ring. Everyone's happy!!, Have a good one, Art...

That's a nice ring. I hope for the owners sake that he realizes where he lost it and it gets returned. I found a gold tennis bracelet in the carpark at work several years ago and just handed it over to security. If I lost something valuable I would hope that whomever found it would do the same.

ouch had to hurt losing that one ----very honest of you to attempt a return---after 1 to 3 months --if theres no claim---think you would "have" a new ring---30 to 90 days is the normal time a "unclaimed" item sits "in police custody"  before "they" say yours----most folks after checking the plant and making sure it was no one theres  (wouldn't want a co worker to say --"he took my ring" now would ya? ) would call it a day and keep it. WOW!!!...Gorgeous ring. I'd be miserable if I lost mine. My wedding ring is similar but mine only has one diamond and is not worth as much. Well, mine is worth a mint to me though. I've looked for plenty of rings that people lost over the years with my detector and only found 2 of them. Most of the time people just have no clue where they lost them. You may have one that you get to keep there.

A bird in the hand.....  Will poop on you!

John, You always told me that I should never get attatched to any of my finds, and I know this is good advice. Therfore you should not get attatched to "MY" finds either. Ya see it's only a material thing. However, Our friendship will always be there. There is no ring big enough to match our friendship.....  Grin (besides, it probably would'nt fit )  Cool

Way to go Southcacalaky, what goes around comes around, good karma will come your way and you will be rewarded even more.

I am sure the feeling you got on returning it was reward enough which makes it even better when the karma runs full circle.

That's a nice ring. I hope for the owners sake that he realizes where he lost it and it gets returned. I found a gold tennis bracelet in the carpark at work several years ago and just handed it over to security. If I lost something valuable I would hope that whomever found it would do the same.

I would never turn anything of value over to security.  I will gladly give them my contact information where the owner can contact me, if they can provide me with a detailed description of the item.
