Earlier in the week I posted pics of my first Barber that I found along the lakeshore and also mentioned the heavily encrusted coin/token.  After soaking it in a variety of solutions, it turned out to be a token, but still a mystery.  Symbols are the same on both sides of the token and no writing.  What appears to be arrows going out from the center are actually fishes so I think some kind of religious token.  Anyone with ideas?

Also shown is pictures of my second barber, a 1913, found yesterday.  It still needs a bit of cleaning but it is in beautiful shape.  It was up near the banks of the lake and in the sand which likely helped preserve it.  The rest of yesterday's hunt wasn't too exciting- a couple of wheats and a handful of clad.

Nice dime! Does it happen to have an S mint mark on the back? That would be a bonus.

Nice find on the Barber.  Hope you can find out what the token is.  Don't complain about the Wheaties, I love to find them and almost any coin this is more than 60 years old.  Makes me feel younger!  Keep looking. JD

Nice finds!  I've only found one Barber coin & it was a thrill!  Congrats!!   thumbsup

I love the wheats, too.  I remember when at least every other penny in my pocket was a wheat.  That's what makes me feel old!

Of course I was only a little kid then.......  Smiley
