This weekend I to the XLT to an open hay field where a house stood in the 1800's. Found several flat buttons, lead shot, 2 large cents dated 1827 and 1831, and a rare 1847 Zachary Taylor token. My partner Cliff also found an 1830 large cent. Supposed to rain the next 2 days so we are going back Friday.

Those two LC's are in great condition. Man, I want one of those. Pirate Great scores on a pair of lovely old Liberties. The Zachary Taylor token is awesome as well.

This token goes with the "2 lc and rare token" posting I made earlier. Different internet sites say this is a rare Zachary Taylor presidential campaign token I found at a 1800's site in a hay field. The front has a bust of "old rough and tough" surrounded by "hero of paulo alto, reseca de la palma, monterey and buena vista (where his army defeated Gen. Santa Anna), Major General Zachary Taylor". the reverse has a large eagle with 3 arrows in one claw and an olive branch in the other surrounded by " United States of America 1847." It is the size of a quarter, copper, and has a reeded edge like a coin.
