Beep! Beep ! I gotta' go tectin' !

Dixon, Illinois

« on: November 08, 2009, 02:18:14 PM »

Hey Folks. It's been over two months since I last went swinging. My buddy Haywire got me out Friday and I managed to get a 1947 S Wheat. That got my juices flowing to do my new home. I mowed the lawn real nice and rested for awhile. Then I hit the front yard for a night hunt. Cleaned up a bit of clad and some trash. I got a deep dime signal and carefully dug a huge plug, it's my yard! Wink Nothing in the plug so I used the DX-1 in the bottom of the hole and located the target. I got it into my hand and to my joy I realized I had found my first Seated Liberty dime! Cheesy It is an 1875 CC sweety and I did a shout of joy to the Lord and danced for a few seconds. Now back to work. I concentrated on the area I found Miss Liberty. I ran across a deep quarter signal. Another large and deep plug and the target was in the bottom of the hole. The DX-1 quickly found the target. I got this one in my hand and upon looking at it wasn't sure what I had found but, I thought it was a goody. I got some light on it and made out the date of my first ever Half Cent! Shocked She's an oldie 1826 and I really praised God and danced all around my front lawn. Grin I had never thought I'd get something this old in Illinois. I knew my little hamlet had some pre civil war history and now I got the goods to show for it. I scored a cool little 5th place 4-H pin also. I was using my DFX in Mixed Mode 15 khz with the 6 X 10 coil. Both coins were about nine inches deep. Whites machines totally RULE!!! God indeed blessed me beyond all expections for goodies in my yard. Gotta' run. I'm taking Joe Dirt & Haywire down there for more swinging good fun. I miss you folks a bunch. God bless you all!!!

Kevin

Fantastic finds!  1826 is sure an oldie for your neck of the woods.  I have only found one half cent, and it ain't as pretty as yours!

That dime is also awesome!  You don't see many Carson City coins dug either.

Very Nice!

Just stopped in to say thanks for all the wonderful replies. I don't get much time to access the internet these days. I don't have much time to hunt either. I reckon the cool stuff has been resting here for this long so it will be there until I get time to recover it. Thanks again for the thoughts and God bless you ALL.

Man those finds are sweet Thumbs Up Your half cent appears to be in better shape than the one I found. You might want to a little research on your property. There must be something that put those coins there.
